At least eight people were injured as a result of a shooting near a mosque in the southern city of Avignon, France, ABC News reported.
The mosque did not appear to be the target of the Sunday night shooting. Police say the shooting was likely the result of a squabble between two young people, and not related to terrorism.
Two hooded men opened fire with a shotgun as people were leaving the building of mosque at about 22.30 on Sunday.
Eight people, including a 7-year-old girl, had non-life-threatening injuries in the incident at Arrahma mosque.
The reports say the perpetrators fled.
