Pro-government parliamentarians of Bahrain appealed to King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa urging to impose marital law in the country, Bahrain News Agency reports. They also called on the King to impose a curfew and deploy army units to ensure security and stability in the country.

The move came after a month of unrest in the country. Yesterday the protestors blocked one of the highways in capital Manama which was followed by clashes with security forces. There were injured on both sides, the Gulf Daily News reported.

Bahrain is a small country in the Persian Gulf with a major Shiit population and Sunnis ruling the country. There is a tiny Armenian community. The number of Armenians who came to Manama mainly from Syria and Lebanon is around 50.
