The Madrid principles supplemented by the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs imply actual consolidation of Nagorno-Karabakh’s independence, REGNUM reports referring to a high-ranking official of the RA Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Besides actually recognizing Nagorno-Karabakh’s independence, the document mentioned by the OSCE MG Co-Chairs provides for the exercise of the Nagorno-Karabakh people’s right to self-determination.

Commenting on a joint statement adopted by the Russian, French and US Presidents at the G8 Summit in Italy, the Azerbaijani political scientist Vafa Guluzade said: “If it were statements alone that would decide everything, there would be no problems in the world, and people would die of boredom, without conflicts.”

Guluzade, who seems to dislike the position shown by the three superpowers’ Presidents, said: “This is an utterly unsubstantiated statement with the only purpose of ennobling themselves and can by no means influence the conflict, which caused suffering to the Azerbaijani people. By means of statements like that the OSCE MG Co-Chairs are inventing absurd principles calling them now Madrid now Prague principles, which, however, do not allow the aggressor to be punished and justice restored.”

It is obvious that, in their zeal, and through “independent” political analysts of Guluzade's caliber, the Azerbaijani authorities decided to distort the truth once again and go beyond the limits by even criticising the Russian, French and US Presidents.
