YEREVAN. – The city hall of Armenian capital illegally deconstructed stalls on the streets, forcing people to immigrate, putting people under psychological and physical pressure, the Heritage party MP Larisa Alaverdyan declared.

“This is explained by the fact that the stalls’ contracts have expired. But stalls which contracts haven’t expired yet were also affected by illegal actions. At the same time, even if the contracts have expired, the city hall must at first take into account the third article of Armenian Constitution on “human and citizen main rights”, including the rights to ‘make business’ and ‘earn money for family living’. The Constitution’s 48th article states that it is the government’s responsibility to provide environment for employment and improvement of working conditions,” reads the statement of Larisa Alaverdyan.

According to Alaverdyan the government violates other constitutional norms too.

“Parliament Heritage party group demands that the Yerevan city hall and all state agencies stop illegal and anti-constitutional actions and make limitations only based on the Constitution. Power belongs to the nation. According to the Constitution’s 2nd article ‘the appropriation of power by any organization or individual is a crime’," the opposition MP concluded.
