YEREVAN. – In response to 168 Zham daily’s question as to veracity of the news that him and his brother Vazgen Khachikyan, former Head of Armenia’s Social Fund, were the whistleblowers in the case of Serop Der-Boghossian—proprietor of Armenia’s Akhtala Mine Enrichment Plant, Metal Prince Company, and American-Armenian businessman, who is charged with child molestation—Mayor of Akhtala, Haykaz Khachikyan said:       

“We helped in that. Naturally, the National Security Service was dealing [with that], and we could not have done anything more than them. We had heard [about it], but did not have evidence. But when we learned that there is that video, we resorted to other means,” 168 Zham writes, adding that Akhtala’s Mayor hopes Der-Boghossian is sentenced to no less than eight years in prison.
