On Thursday and Friday, Armenia’s capital Yerevan will host a high-level international discussion on the “Eastern Partnership: National & European Dynamics.” Organized by the International Center for Human Development (ICHD) with the support of the EU Delegation to Armenia, the Mosaic Institute and the Friedrich Ebert Foundation, this conference is aimed at increasing the role of civil society and think-tanks in decision making in Armenia.
The Conference will bring together civil society actors and policy makers from Armenia, Georgia, Ukraine, Russia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Turkey, and Sweden. Representatives of the European Union, OSCE and the Council of Europe will engage in an open exchange of ideas and opinions with local and regional decision makers.
This is the seventh annual international conference on European integration organized by ICHD in cooperation with development partners in Europe and worldwide. The annual conferences became a genuine forum for consolidating Armenia’s progress towards EU integration.
The conference will start with opening speeches by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia Edward Nalbandyan, the Minister of Justice Hrayr Tovmasyan, and the Head of the EU Delegation to Armenia Raul de Luzenberger. The conference will also feature reports by Antti Hartikainen, Team Leader of the EU Advisory Group to Armenia, Douglas Wake, First Deputy Director, ODIHR and others. Armenian PM Tigran Sargsyan and Euronest Co-Chairman Kristian Vigenin will deliver the closing comments on, on Friday.
