YEREVAN. – News about the probable dismissal of Governor Surik Khachatryan (a.k.a. Liska) of Armenia’s Syunik Region has caused a great joy in the Region, Hraparak daily writes.
“The people are congratulating one another, heralding that there is a national liberation awakening in the Syunik world. They are communicating the good news that they will finally emancipate from Liska’s years long yoke. Some have even spread news that the Regional Governor is detained. They probably have confused the news about launching criminal proceedings with being detained. His exploits had caused so much discontent in the Region, for so many years, that the people are rejoicing that they could finally be free from Liska,” Hraparak writes.
