YEREVAN. – The Helsinki Citizens’ Assembly Vanadzor Office, whose Chairman is Artur Sakunts, filed a lawsuit against Armenia’s Police Chief, Vladimir Gasparyan, on November 10.
The causes for the lawsuit were Gasparyan’s interviews given to Hraparak daily and “Zinuzh” (Armed Forces) television program.
The aforesaid Office finds that Gasparyan’s statements made in the interview with Hraparak are offensive and slanderous while his interview during the “Zinuzh” television program contains several offensive remarks that tarnish the organization’s good reputation.
The Office requests from the court to obligate Gasparyan to make a public apology and to exact 10 drams (.03 cents) from him.
To note, Vladimir Gasparyan was the Deputy Minister of Defense, at the time of the abovementioned interviews.
