YEREVAN. – Armenia’s Police Force and Chief Prosecutor’s Office have launched a so far informal large-scale inquiry, at the country’s hospitals, to determine the means by which the ruling coalition’s Prosperous Armenia Party is conducting charity work in recent times, Zhoghovurd daily writes, referring to its reliable sources.

“The task at hand is to find out where the glasses, which are gratuitously distributed to the people, are purchased from, or whether the physicians are being paid for extra work, or whether the Armenian State Budget’s means are being spent, etc. To clarify the authenticity of this news, Zhoghovurd conversed with Chief Prosecutor’s spokesperson Sona Truzyan, who said that conducting an inquiry is not their function. Police Force Public Relations and Media Department Chair Ashot Aharonyan noted this is not true. And Health Minister’s spokesperson Shushan Hunanyan said she did not possess such information,” Zhoghovurd writes.
