YEREVAN. – Those Armenians who apply for Armenia’s citizenship will no longer be required to be familiar with the country’s Constitution.

The National Assembly adopted the “Law on Making Changes and Additions to the ‘Law on Armenian Citizenship,’” which went into force on January 1, 2012.

Also pursuant to this law, the children of those foreign citizens who have acquired Armenia’s citizenship will be considered Armenia’s citizens, based on the application submitted for receiving a citizenship passport.

And the outstanding obligations before the state are the basis for rejecting an application for renouncing Armenia’s citizenship.
