Armenia and Ukraine paid their regular UN budget dues for 2017 in full.

Spokesman for the UN Secretary-General, Stéphane Dujarric, told the aforementioned to journalists in New York on Thursday.

“I want to say “thank you very much” to the nine countries that have already paid their regular budget dues in full.  And I would also like to acknowledge the 17 others who have made partial payments as of this eleventh day of 2017.  The nine fully paid-up Members are Angola, Armenia, Benin, Dominican Republic, Hungary, Liberia, Senegal, South Sudan and Ukraine,” he noted.

The greatest amount— $4 million—was paid by Hungary, while the smallest— $25,000–by Liberia.

The amount of the contribution of each country is determined on the basis of the average GDP index of the country for a ten-year period, considering the per capita income of the population and foreign debts. Currently, US remain the largest sponsor of UN, covering 22 percent of the organization’s expenses. The share of Russia in the UN budget amounts to about 2.5 percent. Last year Russia transferred $76.7 to the UN.
