YEREVAN. – I urge to put an end to the story of this pen. Armenia’s Constitutional Court (CC) President Hrayr Tovmasyan said this in a TV program, referring to his giving a pen to Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.

"The pen can't become the number one matter on the political agenda," he said. “I don't want to talk about it. I urge all people and public officials to refrain from discussing this issue because, first of all, these institutions are being devalued. (...) The problems facing our country, the regional and other challenges are much more complicated than having the entire political, social strata of the country sit down and discuss what happened when the CC President handed a pen to the Prime Minister."

To the question, "How much does the pen cost?" Tovmasyan answered that he does not remember.

"But after it when there were those publications, from 10,000 drams to up to several hundred dollars, euros," he added. “I'm ashamed to talk about it now. (...) It was quite surprising to me why he [Pashinyan] had kept this pen for 1.5 years. I honestly didn't remember about that pen. (...) I like giving gifts. I will not deny that I like to receive gifts as well."
