YEREVAN. – Armenian businessman MP and chairman of Prosperous Armenia Party Gagik Tsarukyan spent 10 million drams ($26,700 US) to renovate the motorway leading to the cemetery of Charentsavan town in Armenia’s Kotayk region, the Zhoghovurd daily writes.
“But Kotayk governor Kovalenko Shahgaldyan and his mayor son say everywhere that Cherantsavan’s mayor Hakob Shahgaldyan actually renovated the street by means of City Hall’s funds. Zhoghovurd attempted to ascertain whether the cemetery was really renovated with Tsarukyan’s money. “Yes, the street is renovated by the means provided by Gagik Tsarukyan’s charitable foundation,” Tsarukyan’s press secretary Khachik Galstyan replied.
