YEREVAN. – Back on August 19, the people who are conducting trade in the underpass at the intersection of downtown Yerevan’s Abovyan-Koryun streets organized a protest across the Armenian Presidential Palace, 168 Zham daily writes. They protested because they had heard that Yerevan City Hall had decided to auction the aforesaid area, too, depriving them of conducting trade at their kiosks in the underpass.

“According to our sources, Yerevan City Hall has already carried out the auction and sold that area to Vardan Harutyunyan, ArmRusGazprom gas company’s Board Chairman and General Director. There are 43 kiosks in the underpass and 4-5 people work in each kiosk,” 168 Zham writes.
