YEREVAN. – The Aug. 4 is the day of international solidarity for the Belarusian civil society and human rights movements, the Helsinki Association informs Armenian News-NEWS.am.

“Despite Belarus is in the heart of Europe, it is the only country in the world where death sentence is valid and European Convention of human rights is not valid,” the Association informed adding also it will hold an action at 12.00 p.m. in front of the Belarusian Embassy in Yerevan on Friday. The action will be held in protection to the head of Vensa human rights center, and deputy chairman of the International Federation of Human Rights (FIDH) Ales Belyatski. At the end a manifest will be signed and handed to the Embassy.
