YEREVAN. – Activists of the Armenian National Congress (ANC) held a weekly protest action in front of the Prosecutor General’s Office of Armenia building demanding that  the political prisoners should be set free (photo).

One of the participants of the action Zaruhi Hovhannisyan presented the demands, which is to immediately release the ANC activists Tigran Arakelyan, Artak Karapetyan, Davit Kiramijyan, Sargis Gevorgyan and to call for responsibility the police officers who used violence against the activists and their lawyers.

The ANC activists stated they will continue to gather in front of the Prosecutor General’s Office building every Friday. The protest was guarded by the police headed by Deputy Police Chief of Yerevan Robert Melkonyan.
