YEREVAN. – A considerable number of Armenia’s leading businessmen are preparing to leave the country, Chorrord Inknishkhanutyun daily reports.  

“And if on the one hand some of them are truly connected with abroad because of [their] business plans, this ‘flight’ has its pretexts for some others.

Specifically those [businessmen] who represent the mining and stone processing industry—whose activity centers are Armenia’s regions—do not want to get involved in any way with the local self-government [election] processes, albeit the government apparatus had told the vast business sector to finish up their ‘secondary’ matters on time and to get engaged in their permanent ‘work.’    

By the way, Vardan Ayvazyan—who has very close contacts with the Georgian authorities and is able to come out the winner from any situation—could also be among those [businessmen] who are ‘leaving’ [Armenia]. And if reaching such decision is a matter of ‘principle’ in the case of small and medium businessmen who work diligently, in the case of Ayvazyan, however, perhaps there is even no need to say that the calculation is ‘upfront,’” Chorrord Inknishkhanutyun writes.
