YEREVAN.- Armenian presidential candidate Arman Melikyan said he would not recognize election results, he told reporters on Wednesday.
However, he would not appeal the results because of lack of trust in Armenia’s judiciary.
Melikyan, who has been running for presidential seat twice, will return to public work focused on Karabakh issue after the campaign is over.
Asked about his attitude towards mass protests, candidate said he is not supporting protests and revolutions as it is throwing back development of the country for several decades. In case of Armenia, it will lead to loss of accommodated resources, although they are small.
“I am supporter of evolutionary development when the society puts forward demands and leads leadership to the dialogue,” he said, citing revolutions in Arab world as an example of ineffectiveness of revolution method.
