YEREVAN.- Starting from today, presidential candidate Andreas Ghukasyan will limit contacts with journalists to preserve energy, his representative told reporters on Wednesday.
Armen Grigoryan, coordinator of candidate’s headquarters, said Ghukasyan would not stop hunger strike unless he is forced to do so due to health problems.
Asked whether elections may be postponed if Ghukasyan’s health deteriorates, Grigoryan said under the Constitution, candidate’s health condition could be a reason for delaying the vote till February 10.
Coordinator of Ghukasyan’s headquarters said there is difference in the work of doctors provided by Health Ministry and private doctors. He said the results of examinations differs.
To note, presidential contender Andreas Ghukasyan is on a hunger strike ever since January 21, and under the slogan, “Stop Fake Elections.” He demands from the Central Electoral Commission to declare the ruling Republican Party presidential candidate, incumbent President Serzh Sargsyan’s formal nomination null and void.
