OSCE Minsk Group Russian Co-Chair Yuri Merzlyakov assumed new office, official representative of RF Ministry of Foreign Affairs Andrei Nesterenko informed at Feb. 26 briefing, Vesti reports.

He emphasized that Russia’s stance in OSCE Minsk Group is moulded by the President, not by its representatives.

As NEWS.am reported previously, Igor Popov will be appointed new Russian Co-Chair of OSCE Minsk Group, RF Foreign Ministry diplomatic sources report. In 2005 he assumed office of the RF Ambassador to Mozambique.

According to the obtained information, OSCE MG Russian current Co-Chair Yuri Merzlyakov, who has a rank of the 1st class Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, might be appointed a Russian Ambassador to Estonia.
