YEREVAN. – The Government of Armenia extended for one year the term for one of its earlier decisions.   

The aforesaid decision enables the citizens of Lebanon and Syria to receive Armenian citizenship passports at the diplomatic representations and consular offices of Armenia.  

In addition, another Armenian government decision—whereby the citizens of European Union member states and of the non-member states of the European Union that apply the EU Schengen visa provisions are exempted from visa requirements to enter Armenia—is extended on to Croatia, which became a member of the European Union on July 1. 

Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan considered it indispensable for the Armenian MFA to examine the issuance of visas to the citizens of Iraq and to submit a respective proposal. 

“We need to set up a procedure so that the citizens of this country would be able to visit Armenia. Today, Iraq has become a large and wealthy country with a dynamic tourism potential. We will discuss the kind of procedure we can set up to raise the touristic appeal of Armenia,” Sargsyan stated, in particular.
