Azerbaijan- Russia convergence on the energy policy, particularly the contract on gas delivery signed by Russian President Medvedev in Baku will not considerably influence the Nabucco project, the Ukrainian political expert Andrey Yermolov told NEWS.am.

He explained that the Nabucco organizer countries rely more on the Middle Asian countries than on Azerbaijan.

The Turkish, Austrian and Hungarian Prime-Ministers as well as the managers of Bulgarian and Romanian energy companies signed an intergovernmental agreement on Nabucco gas main construction in Ankara, on July 13, 2009.

The supplier and transit countries did not sign the document. Under a tentative agreement, the contract was signed by the sponsor countries. The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) plans to allocate €1 bln as an initial amount in 2010.

The Nabucco 3.3 km-long gas main is expected to run through Azerbaijan, Georgia, Turkey, Bulgaria, Romania, Hungary and Austria.
