The Philippine police arrested a Panamanian vessel transporting five boxes of Gagil rifles produced in Israel. The walla.co.il. portal reports the crew was formed of Georgian citizens.

According to accompanying documents, the dry-cargo ship, that entered the port of Mariveles for unclear reasons, left a Turkish port for the Philippine port of Batangas.

The authorities believe the Israeli weapons were intended for the Islamist insurgents of Philippines. The Government has been warring against them for over ten years.
