The central square of Yerevan – the Republic Square – is not only the capital’s symbol, but also the heart of state institutions.

The building of the Government and different ministries are located along the square. Apparently, neither the yards nor even the parking lot hastily built amid the square, satisfy the demands of Armenian officials.  

Consequently, on working days it is possible to observe all kinds of parking and traffic violations in the square. To give this a look of “lawfulness,” portable signs are used.  Very often huge jeeps simply block the entrance to the adjacent streets due to which the rest of the traffic movement parties have to make traffic violations.   

The police ignore such violations, “oddly enough” cameras not being installed in the square at all.
