Over the last 3-4 years, the number of suicides in Armenia has acquired an avalanche-like character and continues growing, expert and clinical psychologist Azad Isazade told Turan.

In his words, there are many reasons leading to suicide but all the comments on this will be subjective judgments, since the country lacks a specialized structure, which would study the problem systematically, generalizing the statistics.

According to the expert, because of the lack of comprehensive research and non-established causes of suicides, the problem acquires the nature of “epidemics.”

In his words, people choose to commit suicide not only because of social and financial issues: there might be other factors as well. “If there is no comprehensive study of suicides, their number will grow at high rate,” the expert noted.
