YEREVAN. - This New Year one could buy no less than last year by the same amount of money.

Armenian Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan said the aforementioned at a press-conference on Friday.

Flour and butter could have become more expensive—but not catastrophically—whereas the prices of some goods have dropped.  “Speaking conventionally, this New Year it was possible to buy no less by 100 AMD than last year,” he noted.

According to the recent data of the National Statistical Service of Armenia, the common index of the consumer prices in December 2016 reduced by 1.1 percent as compared to December 2015, including by 0.2 percent for food, alcohol and tobacco.
