Warsaw prosecutor’s office summoned European Council’s President elect Donald Tusk for questioning.

Tusk is called as a witness in the trial of the former leaders of the Polish secret services, who had cooperated with the Russian FSB, when Tusk was the Prime Minister of Poland, DW reports. Such a statement was made by Warsaw District Prosecutor's Office spokesman Michal Jekansky.

The Polish authorities do not disguise their anger over Tusk's re-election. " It’s an attack on Poland under the EU flag," said Jaroslaw Kaczynski, the leader of the ruling party Law and Justice.

The President of Poland Andrzej Duds in his turn explained, that he congratulated Tusk out of diplomatic etiquette. Poland was the only country in the EU that voted against Tusk's candidacy.
