From now on, German MPs will be able to visit their soldiers that are serving at the airbase in Konya, Turkey, without permission from Turkish authorities.
The German foreign minister and the NATO Secretary General have reached an agreement that all flights being conducted from the Konya airbase be considered NATO flights, according to Demokrathaber website of Turkey.
As a result, there will no longer be a need for getting the go-ahead from Turkish authorities to visit the Konya airbase. The German MPs will just need to inform Ankara about their visit.
The German lawmakers, however, have not yet received consent to visit their soldiers that are stationed in the Incirlik airbase in Turkey.
