There were 13 high-ranking officers in the military helicopter that took off from Uludere district of Turkey’s primarily Kurdish-populated Şırnak Province, but crashed.

General Staff of the Turkish Armed Forces confirmed that the commander of the 23rd Border Regiment, General Aydoğan Aydın, as well as a colonel and several other officers were in this helicopter, according to Cumhuriyet (Republic) daily of Turkey. 

Ambulances and rescuers were dispatched to the crash site.
