Russia will not alter its decision to join the Paris global agreement to curb climate change, despite the withdrawal of the US from the pact, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Arkady Dvorkovich said at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF), RIA Novosti reported.
According to him, an agreement in itself is a signal about a certain unity of countries around an issue. He considered that no one has any doubts that the Americans will also deal with environmental issues.
“We made the decision to join, and I don't think we will change it,” Dvorkovich told reporters.
President Donald Trump said Thursday he was withdrawing the US from the Paris climate accord.
