It will be easier for citizens of Georgia to get a visa to Japan in the nearest future, Japanese Minister of Foreign Affairs Fumio Kishida said after the meeting with his Georgian counterpart Mikheil Janelidze in Tokyo, Agenda reported.

According to Kishida, Japan’s plans to simplify visa procedures for Georgian citizens in order to promote Georgia among Japanese tourists so that the two countries develop close people-to-people connections.

Kishida also said that, taking the safe environment in Georgia into consideration, Japan’s Foreign Ministry will improve Georgia’s profile on the Travel Adviser category on the Ministry’s website so that more Japanese tourists become interested in Georgia.

Another important agreement the two Ministers reached is to intensify investment cooperation.

During the meeting the sides announced their readiness to expand bilateral cooperation in the fields of economy, energy, innovation, high technology and agriculture.
