Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan approved a draft bill allowing its troops to be deployed to a Turkish military base in Qatar, an apparent move to support the Gulf Arab country when it faces diplomatic and trade isolation, Reuters reported.
Erdogan also approved another accord between Turkey and Qatar on military training cooperation. Turkey has also pledged to provide food and water supplies to Qatar.
Erdogan said earlier that Turkey will continue to develop relations with Qatar.
Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, and the UAE had announced that they broke diplomatic ties with Qatar, condemning Doha of supporting terrorist organizations and destabilizing the situation in the Middle East.
Later, the authorities of Libya, Yemen, Maldives, Mauritius, Mauritania, and The Comoros also informed that they were severing relations with Qatar.
