At least five MPs and seven employees of the National Assembly (NA) were injured in Wednesday’s attack on the parliament of Venezuela, reported TASS news agency of Russia.

According to members of the country’s top legislature, the pro-government military groups, which are known as “colectivos,” bear accountability for this incident.

NA President Julio Borges named five of the lawmakers that were injured.

Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro condemned the use of violence at the NA and ordered an investigation into this incident.
