YEREVAN. – Karabakh war veteran Samvel Mikaelyan started a hunger strike near the French Embassy in Yerevan on Wednesday.

Mikaelyan says he intends to meet with French Ambassador Henri Reynaud to ask for an opportunity of moving to France. Veteran plans to hold hunger strike near the embassy until he receives an answer.

He said that had previously appealed to Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan asking for an apartment but his calls remain unanswered.

Representatives of French Embassy told the Armenian News-NEWS.am correspondent that Ambassador Reynaud does not plan to meet with the veteran, as embassy cannot interfere with Armenia’s domestic affairs.
