If official Yerevan does not prove to be hostage to the Diaspora, a significance advance in the Nagorno-Karabakh peace process can be expected from the Aliyev-Sargsyan meeting today, Novruz Mamedov, Head of the Foreign Relations Department, Azerbaijani Presidential Administration, stated in his interview with the Jarchi TV program.

The officials further went on to set Armenia against its strategic ally, Russia. Mamedov observed that “official Moscow’s position might give impetus to the negotiations.” Of course, Mamedov views this “impetus” in the context of the “necessity for Armenians to realize the inevitability of settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict exclusively within Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity.”

The Armenian and Azerbaijani Presidents are to hold a meeting in Chisinau this evening. President Serzh Sargsyan stated that no documents are to be signed.
