YEREVAN. - A 15-year-old Yura Simonyan was taken to police department on Wednesday, Armenian News-NEWS.am cites the statement released by Helsinki Association.

“According to the advocate Narine Sargsyan, Simonyan was taken to police department as a witness for the dispute that took place in a yard on Bagratunyats Street. There were also shots during the dispute. However, the advocate tried to see her client since Thursday after noon, but she did not succeed.

Police investigator Kamo Sharoyan told the latter that Simonyan would come but he did not appear.
The association also tried to submit a statement to police about Simonyan’s disappearance in police department. However, the statement was rejected.

Simonyan was released on Thursday at 11:05 p.m. The advocate had no chances to see her client during all that time.

Simonyan told that he was beaten in the police department and forced to say as if he had seen the person who shot in the yard. Simonyan will see forensic doctor on Friday,” the statement reads.
