“The situation was very critical. Police tried to dismantle the kiosks. People throw stones on the equipments that were ready to break their kiosks down,” the MP told and added that the situation repeated for several times during the day.
According to Yerevan City Hall decision, the kiosks may be removed to secondary streets, but should be dismantled from the main streets. Safaryan, however, said that there is no official decision for dismantling, except reference from the city hall. According to the MP, no one has ever seen the document. Those who want to dismantle the kiosks state that the alleged reason is the exhaustion of the leasing terms of the land.
