YEREVAN. – The activists of oppositional Armenian National Congress (ANC), who were beaten and later arrested, released a statement. They told they will continue to struggle for each violated right of every citizen of Armenia.

ANC members of the initiative “Against police illegitimacy” have for many times noticed the illegal actions of the police towards the Armenian youth. They tried to interfere and prevent such actions. However, they were subjected to physical violence and taken to police on Tuesday.

“We, the members of the ANC, condemn the actions of police and restate our readiness to struggle for each violated right of every citizen of Armenia. We also call the youth to know their rights and defend them. We are afraid of neither police nor prisons. We struggle for legal state and dignified life of every citizen of Armenia,” the release reads.
