A Yerevan court has declared insane Vahram Mezhlumyan, 60, who is charged with brutally killing—by beheading—his sister Melania Mezhlumyan, 68, two years ago—on August 1—in Yerevan. Armenian News-NEWS.am has learned about this from the Judicial Information System of Armenia.

As a result, Vahram Mezhlumyan has been released from criminal accountability and punishment, and a medical constraint measure has been applied to him.

According to the court's decision, he was transferred to a psychiatric hospital.

As reported earlier, Yerevan resident Vahram Mezhlumyan had beheaded his sister Melania Mezhlumyan two years ago, and tried to hide her head in a bag.
