Armenia continues to remain in the dynamics of decline in agriculture. This was announced by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan at the Cabinet session of the government Thursday, adding, however, that significant growth has been recorded in the country in other domains.

"In January-September of this year, we had a 0.7 percent drop in agricultural production; one of our daily works should be to increase the productivity of agriculture,” Pashinyan said.

“By and large, the economic situation in our country is good. In September 2022, we recorded an economic activity index of 14.6 percent, and in January-September—14.1 percent. The amount of industrial output increased by 10 percent, the amount of construction—by 14.3 percent, trade—by 14.5 percent, the amount of services—by 27.1 percent, the amount of electricity production—by 16.9 percent. Exports increased by 63.8 percent, imports—by 61.6 percent," the PM added.

According to Pashinyan, if the optimistic forecasts come true, it will turn out that the average economic growth of 7 percent in 2019, 2020, 2021, and 2022 has been maintained in Armenia.

"This year's high economic growth creates certain risks for us, next year we must ensure another 7-percent economic growth at this high rate; that is our commitment," he said.

Pashinyan emphasized that this September, Armenia set a new record of jobs with income and wages. "In September 2022, we had 691,087 jobs, which is 10,000 more than the previous record," he said.

According to him, since 2018, a total of 108,000 new jobs have appeared and been created in Armenia.
