YEREVAN. - Press service of Armenian parliament replied to the Armenian News-NEWS.am article. As Armenian News-NEWS.am reported earlier linguist David Gyurjinyan expressed his dislike of the photo of the Parliament Speaker Hovik Abrahamyan in the announcement text of recitation festival, funded by Abrahamyan himself. Gyurjinyan argued that the festival is not organized for the sake of promotion of the classics of Armenian literature, it rather promotes directly and indirectly the parliament speaker.

In this regard, the parliament expressed its disagreement with Gyurjinyan’s opinion.

“This is absolute nonsense. Photos of Speaker Hovik Abrahamyan were not set during any of recitations festival-competitions realized under auspicious of Mr. Abrahamyan. The claims of Davis Gyurjinyan are false. To have a more objective knowledge of the festival one should be present at the event at least once,” reads the statement of Armenian parliament.
