YEREVAN. – Armenian Military Prosecutor Gevorg Kostanyan ordered to initiate a criminal case against the officer who, according to the father of former soldier of Armenian armed forces Hovhannes Vartanyan, was violently beaten the officers.

The case was initiated on the Article 375 of the Armenian Criminal Code  (Abuse of power, government inaction, etc.).

MOD informed Armenian News-News.am that the criminal case was sent to the military investigation service. Public will be informed about the results of the investigation.

Armenian News-News.am reported earlier, that the initiative “We Will not Keep Silence” had posted a video, in which the father tells that his son was tortured in the army and as a result became insane. Video also shows former soldier, very young Hovhannes Vartanyan, who acts and speaks like an insane.
