YEREVAN. - Armenian “Arabo” detachment Commander Manvel Yeghiazaryan announced on Wednesday that army is an achievement of the 20th century for patriotic people and it is unacceptable to have an army with distracted soldiers.

“There are officers who are not in their appropriate position. You take care of your child for eighteen years, then they go to serve in the army and these officers kill them. During the last fifteen years 1,500 soldiers have been killed [in Armenian army], when there was no war” said Yeghiazaryan.

According to Yeghiazaryan, it’s not fair to blame only the officers, however.

“Sometimes there are servicemen, who has power and belittle the officer and when the officer punishes them, the officer gets fired” said Yeghiazaryan.

Armenian News-News.am reported earlier, that the initiative “We Will not Keep Silence” had posted a video-message, in which a father tells about the torture of his son in the army in Karabakh, because of which the son became insane. A criminal case was initiated concerning that incident.
