YEREVAN. – Armenian Ombudsman Karen Andreasyan, having no rights to intervene in court cases, still expresses deep concern on any oppression of freedom of speech and press and improper appliance of legislature in that sphere.

The Human Rights Defender calls all the state bodies to be devoid of such actions, which prevent free information flow in the Armenian society causing the establishment of censorship culture, Ombudsman’s press service informs Armenian News-NEWS.am.

“European Court of Human Rights has a certain disposition and set a principle of precedence on publishing initial barriers, especially in the press. Information may be devaluated and lose its interest if published few minutes later, which happened for example in “The Observer and the Guardian against UK” case, ” the press release of Human Rights Defender reads.
