YEREVAN. – Oppositional Armenian National Congress (ANC) condemns the project on closing March-2008 tragic events in Armenia, adopted by Parliament Assembly of Council of Europe (PACE) monitoring committee on September 8. In case the project is approved, it will significantly harm the reputation of the institution, ANC coordinator Levon Zurabyan told the journalists on Monday.
The adoption of the project will prove that PACE supports Armenian illegitimate authorities and promotes possible repetition of March tragic events. The world wants Armenia to have vulnerable authorities to impose certain solutions regarding the Karabakh conflict and Armenian-Turkish processes. They are ready to run the policy until the issue is out of control, the opposition stated.
Provision on closing March 1, 2008 tragic case was submitted by PACE co-rapportuers Axel Fischer and John Prescott, who prepared report on “Activity of democratic institutes in Armenia.”
