GYUMRI. – A short time after release of the video showing the dire social condition of the family of Elmira Tamazyan, a mother of 3 orphan children in Armenia’s Gyumri city (Armenian News-NEWS.am covered this story in its news entitled “Homeless and neglected orphans: family from Gyumri not to receive home”), the Shirak Center, which had released the video, received a response from Reverend Father Myron Sarkissian, an Armenian clergy from Canada.
Shirak Center hereby presents, with certain abridgment, this Armenian clergy’s letter, addressed to Bishop Mikayel Ajapahyan, Primate of the Shirak Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church, with respect to providing long-term assistance to this family:
“We learned from Shirak Center’s website about Elmira Tamazyan and her 3 orphan children, and therefore we ask you to please appoint a suitable clergy member, so we can include them in the Canadian-Armenian Diocese’s list of Armenia’s orphan children and provide them corresponding assistance through Headquarters of the Shirak Diocese.”
