YEREVAN.- The level of economic and trade relations between Armenia and Lebanon is inferior to the level of ties between the nations, Lebanon’s Speaker Nabih Berri said speaking in the Armenian Parliament on Tuesday.

He called on the governments of both states to intensify work of inter-governmental commission.

Nabih Berri pointed out considerable potential for cooperation in the field of tourism.

“Yerevan can become a tourist center in the former Soviet area to promote tourism to Lebanon and at the same time can become a passage towards the CIS states,” he said.

He stressed that Lebanon can serve for Armenia as a platform to expand relations with Arab world and the Mediterranean states.
