BAKU. – Sharp increase in soldier deaths in the Azerbaijani army has begun to worry the Ministry of Defense, Tribuna news agency of Azerbaijan reported, noting that, even tough they were not giving much attention to this before, now the situation has drastically changed.

Investigations into the non-combat deaths of Azerbaijani soldiers yield no results, and therefore the country’s Minister of Defense Safar Abiyev decided to “move.” In order to amend the situation at the Ministry and to loosen the wave of public protest, it is very likely that Abiyev would severely reprimand some of his generals, Tribuna concludes.

Armenian News-NEWS.am reported earlier that more than 75 Azerbaijani servicemen died along the lines of the country’s defense and security spheres in the first nine months of 2011. And according to analysts from Doktrina Military Studies Center, this is the highest indicator since 2004.
