The Akhtamar Company is planning on constructing another cable-car system in Armenia. It will be built in Gegharkunik Region. In 2009, the Company acquired from the Swiss Leitner Company, and imported to Armenia, Italian-made cable cars and other necessary items.  

Akhtamar Company is obligated to start operating, by January 1, 2012 the cable-car system envisioned by the investment plan, and to create at least 100 jobs, with an average monthly salary of approximately 100,000 drams ($266 US).   

Investments for constructing this one-cable system, with a cable car seating four passengers, constitute about 830 million drams ($2,211,995).  

Akhtamar Company is also planning on constructing a large tourism complex in a 20-hectare area in Gegharkunik Region. The complex will comprise cottages, public catering facilities, playgrounds, different recreational centers, and an alpine skiing network.
