VANADZOR. – In comparison with last year’s 8301 hectares, 8,644 hectares of grain crops are planned to be sown this winter in Armenia’s Lori Region. And this is because the sowing areas have enlarged by around 343 hectares in 2011.
In an interview with Armenian News-NEWS.am, Grigor Hakobyan, Head of the Environment and Agriculture Department at Lori Regional Council, expressed a conviction that winter-crop sowing would surpass past year’s indicator.
And it seems the heads of villages likewise hope to surpass last year’s cultivated-plant sowing, but only if the weather conditions permit. Even though the number of potato sowing areas reduced and less potato was sown this year, the crops surpassed expectations.
